Industrial automation and instrumentation

Description

The industrial automation division is the newly added business domain that deals with the use of various control systems for operating equipment such as machinery, processes in factories, boilers and power management and switching, and other applications with minimal or reduced human intervention. Earlier the purpose of automation was to increase productivity, and to reduce the cost associated with human operators (i.e. wages & benefits). However, today, the focus of automation has shifted to saving energy and materials, as well as increasing quality, accuracy, precision and flexibility in a manufacturing process.
