Marafiq Industrial Water Treatment Plant (IWTP)

Description

In order to meet the growing industrial needs of the Yanbu area, Marafiq launched its Yanbu 2 power and water project. The 690 MW power plant has all its utility services centralized in a single, integrated complex that is regarded as one of the largest of its kind in the world. In 2014, SAS was chosen to carry out the implementation of a multitude of engineering initiatives at Marafiq Industrial Wastewater Treatment Plant (IWTP) comprising the full scope of fire protection and security systems. In May 2015, the Fire Team successfully engineered, installed, tested and commissioned leading-edge firefighting and fire alarm systems required at the plant, doing so on time and to the full satisfaction of the client and the contractor, SETE. Equally, extensive work was carried out by our Security and Communications Department. Under contract with Saudi Archirodon, our teams supplied and supervised the installation of crash rated anti-vehicle barriers at the plant and equipped the site with various security devices such as turnstiles, raise arm barriers, speed humps, crash rated road blockers, and air lock systems. These have all been implemented in accordance with the latest directives issued by the High Commission of Industrial Security.
